1. WHO WE ARE

Ever Clock ("the App") is developed and published by Marcos Antonio Salas Abello, an independent developer ("we", "us", "the Developer"), acting as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Contact for privacy matters: marcos.salas.abello@gmail.com

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play and is available for iOS and Android.

2. SUMMARY

Ever Clock is an ambient clock display. It has no user accounts, no sign-up, no login, and it never asks you for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Everything you configure in the App is stored on your own device.

We do, however, use a small number of third-party services that process technical and device data on our behalf or on their own account:

  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) — usage statistics, crash reports and remote configuration.
  • Google AdMob — rewarded video ads that you choose to watch in order to unlock a temporary trial of a premium clock pack.
  • RevenueCat — management and validation of in-app purchases.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — processing of your payments.

Sections 4 to 8 describe exactly what each of them receives.

3. DATA STORED ONLY ON YOUR DEVICE

The following information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is stored using the operating system's standard local preferences storage:

  • Your display settings: 12/24-hour format, seconds on or off, date on or off, date format, light/dark/system theme, and interface language.
  • The clock pack, clock style and layout you have selected, and any styles you have pinned as favourites.
  • Trial state: which packs currently have an active trial, when each trial expires, and when you last used a free trial or an ad-based trial (so that the once-per-pack and once-per-day limits can be enforced).

You can erase all of this at any time by uninstalling the App or by clearing the App's data through your device settings.

4. ANALYTICS (GOOGLE FIREBASE ANALYTICS)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the App is used and which clock styles and packs people prefer, so that we can improve the product.

Events we send, with their parameters:

  • pack_selected (pack name, whether it was shown as a teaser)
  • style_changed (style name)
  • slot_selected (pack name, layout slot, style)
  • pin_toggled (pack name, style, pinned or unpinned)
  • setting_24h_toggled, setting_seconds_toggled, setting_date_toggled, setting_date_format_changed, setting_theme_changed (the new value)
  • paywall_opened (pack name, where it was opened from)
  • paywall_closed (pack name, outcome)
  • trial_started (pack name, trial mode)
  • purchase_started, purchase_completed (product, pack name, success)
  • restore_purchases (result)

In addition, Firebase automatically collects a set of standard parameters with each event: a pseudonymous app instance identifier, device model and manufacturer, operating system version, App version, device language, and approximate country or region derived from the IP address. Firebase does not store your full IP address in Analytics.

We do not send any free-text you type, because the App has no text input, and we never send data that directly identifies you.

5. CRASH REPORTING (GOOGLE FIREBASE CRASHLYTICS)

When the App crashes or encounters a handled error, Crashlytics sends us a diagnostic report so we can fix it. A report contains a stack trace, the type of exception, device model, operating system version, App version, available memory and storage at the time, and the pseudonymous Crashlytics installation identifier. We also attach small technical keys of our own, for example the stage at which an advertisement failed to load and the error code returned by the advertising SDK.

Crash reports contain no personal content and no information about which clocks you use.

6. REMOTE CONFIGURATION (GOOGLE FIREBASE REMOTE CONFIG)

The App periodically fetches configuration values from Firebase Remote Config — for example, how many minutes a free trial or an ad-based trial lasts, and the support email address shown in Settings. This request sends a pseudonymous app instance identifier, the App version and basic device information. It sends no information about how you use the App.

7. ADVERTISING (GOOGLE ADMOB)

Ever Clock shows one kind of advertisement only: a rewarded video advertisement that you deliberately choose to watch, from the premium pack sheet, in exchange for a timed trial of that pack. There are no banners, no interstitials and no advertisements on the clock screen itself.

The advertising SDK is not even initialised until the first time you tap "Watch an ad". When you do, and subject to the consent described below, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process:

  • your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), if you have allowed it;
  • your IP address, from which an approximate location (country/city level) is derived;
  • device and operating system information, App identifier and version;
  • interaction data about the advertisement itself: that it was requested, displayed, watched to completion, clicked or dismissed.

This data is used to serve and measure advertisements, to prevent advertising fraud, and — only where you have consented — to personalise the advertisements you see.

Consent in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland

Before the first advertisement is requested, the App presents Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form where required by law. Your choices there determine whether personalised advertising is permitted and which advertising vendors may process your data. If you refuse consent, either no advertisement is requested or only non-personalised advertisements are shown; non-personalised advertisements still require limited data such as IP address and basic device information for delivery, frequency capping and fraud prevention.

App Tracking Transparency on iOS

On iOS, before the consent form, the App presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking for permission to use your device's advertising identifier. Declining changes nothing about how the App works — you simply see less relevant advertisements. You can change this decision at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Apple's SKAdNetwork is also enabled for privacy-preserving install attribution; it reports conversions to advertisers without identifying you.

Google's advertising privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads and https://business.safety.google/privacy/

8. PURCHASES (REVENUECAT, APPLE, GOOGLE)

In-app purchases are handled by RevenueCat, Inc., which validates receipts and tells the App which packs you own.

RevenueCat receives and stores an anonymous App User ID that it generates (it is not derived from your name or email), the store receipt or purchase token issued by Apple or Google, the product identifiers you purchased, the purchase and expiry dates, the price and currency, your country as reported by the store, and basic device and platform information.

Your payment itself is processed entirely by Apple or by Google under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive, see or store your payment card details, bank details or billing address. We only receive anonymous, aggregated sales reports from the stores.

RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

9. PERMISSIONS THE APP USES

  • Internet access — required for advertisements, purchase validation, analytics and remote configuration.
  • Billing (Android) — required for in-app purchases.
  • Keep the screen awake — the App can prevent the screen from switching off while a clock is displayed. This is a display behaviour, not a data collection.

The App requests no other permission. It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, files or notifications, and it does not read anything else installed on your device.

10. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING (EEA / UK)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — personalised advertising and the use of the advertising identifier, collected through the UMP consent form and, on iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — processing purchases, restoring purchases and granting access to the content you have bought.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — crash reporting, security and fraud prevention, aggregate usage analytics and remote configuration, in order to keep the App stable and improve it. Where local law requires consent for analytics, we rely on the consent you give in the consent form.

11. HOW LONG DATA IS KEPT

  • Local settings and trial state: until you delete them or uninstall the App.
  • Firebase Analytics event data: retained for up to 14 months (Google's default retention setting for this project), after which it is deleted or kept only in aggregated form.
  • Crashlytics reports: up to 90 days.
  • Advertising data: retained by Google according to its own policies.
  • Purchase records: retained by RevenueCat and by the stores for as long as necessary to honour your purchase and to comply with tax and accounting obligations.

12. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Google, RevenueCat, Apple and their sub-processors operate servers in the United States and in other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA or the United Kingdom, those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or an adequacy decision, as applicable under each provider's data processing terms.

13. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Espanola de Proteccion de Datos (www.aepd.es).

To exercise any of these rights, write to marcos.salas.abello@gmail.com. Please note that, because the App holds no account and no identifier that points to you personally, we may be unable to locate data relating to you unless you provide the technical identifier concerned; in that case we will explain what we can and cannot do.

You can also act directly, without contacting us:

  • Withdraw or change advertising consent: reopen the consent options from the App, or reset the advertising identifier in your device settings.
  • iOS tracking: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Android personalised ads: Settings > Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
  • Delete everything local: uninstall the App or clear its data.

California residents: we do not sell personal information for money. Sharing data with advertising partners for personalised advertising may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA/CPRA; refusing consent in the advertising consent form, or opting out of ad personalisation in your device settings, functions as an opt-out.

14. CHILDREN

Ever Clock is not directed to children. It is intended for users aged 13 and over (16 and over where local law sets that threshold, including parts of the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will delete what we can.

15. SECURITY

All communication between the App and the services described above uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Data stored on your device is protected by the operating system's own application sandbox. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy when the App changes or when the law requires it. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version, and the current version is always the one linked from the App's Settings screen and from our store listings. Material changes will be signalled in the App or in the release notes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
